Adverbs give more information about verbs , adjectives , and adverbs.

And adverbs tell us more about a verb . It explains how an action is carried out .
e . g :
1- The sales promoter talked enthusiastically about the new product
2- The chef gestures wildly in response to the negative remark made by his colleague

An adverbs tells us more about an adjective
e .g :
1- The manager was visibly angry with the careless worker .
2- She felt terribly sick  after eating the wild mushrooms .

An adverbs tells more about another adverb
e. g :
1- The cake was very beautifully decorated .
2- The secret to good cakes is to pour in the mixture very slowly .

Most adverbs are usually formed by adding ‘-ly’ to an adjective

e . g :
1- quick + ly = quickly
2- health + ly = healthily

Some adverbs do not end  in ‘-ly’
e . g :
1- The man was late for work
2- We did not expect the price of food to rise soon  .

Some words can be used both as adjectives and adverbs without any change in form
e . g :
1- The old lady had deep lines on her face .
2- The early bird catches the worm .

An adverbs shows the frequency of how things done
e g :
1- I always have a cup of coffee at breakfast .
2- Janet sometimes goes to the gym .

An adverb can be used in the comparative and superlative forms by adding ‘more.....
than’ and ‘the most.....’
e . g :
1- A professional walker can complete the race more quickly than amateur walker
2- This is most professionally embroidered material I have ever seen .
